AGEING WELL IN DEVON
Devon County Council and Devon Primary Care Trust have recently published a document
"Ageing Well in Devon"
This document covers such issues as health and wellbeing, quality of life, economic wellbeing and choice and control, and will form part of an ongoing dialogue between older people and the statutory agencies in Devon.
Most local Senior Council for Devon groups are organising opportunities for people aged 50+ to find out more and comment on the proposed changes to health and social care in Devon, during October and November 2008. These public meetings are an opportunity for people to have their say and will be the start of an ongoing exchange of views and and partnership between older people and the statutory agencies. It is an opportunity to ask questions and also help shape the future of services for older people in the County.
The local meetings will provide an opportunity to meet the newly appointed Health and Social Care Cluster Managers for the local Senior Council areas across Devon. The meetings will also provide time for discussion in small groups and the event will conclude with an agreed action plan.
The Senior Council Assembly will be considering the outcome of the local discussions on 9 December and will then be talking to Health and Social Care Commissioners early in the new year about improvements that may be made.
