What Does The Senior Council Stand For and Who Can Join?
The Senior Council for Devon gives older people a voice, provides a way of engaging with them, listens to their views and aspirations, and works in partnership to develop practical ideas and actions to address their concerns.
The Senior Council for Devon aims to:
- Be a focus for the voice of older people in Devon (in their communities and at district and county levels) in development and improving services.
- Realise the potential of older people as a creative and active resource for the community.
- Represent any older person regardless of race or creed.
- Be independent and non party political.
- Promote the quality of life, not just of older people but across the generations.
- Work with existing organisations on issues that affect any older person, so that we can represent views whilst policy is being formed and before decisions are set in stone.
*"the above was adopted at an EGM in July 2010"
