September's AGM left the branch in state of hibernation.  There is no elected Executive at present.  New elections will be needed at an EGM following a 75% vote to use it or it lose it.  It would be a great pity to close when we have a membership of over 100 plus an associate group and maybe more.  I imagine Tim Hall, our Publicity and Development Officer will be calling you all together in the New Year.

Yvonne Wardrop.

2010 Meetings:

On Monday 27th September 2010, the Chairman of The Exmouth branch Yvonne Wardop welcomed Mr. John Smith from Trading Standards who gave a talk on  Scams, Cold Calling, General Consumer Advice and Civil Law Issues.

At the July committee meeting, the transport report covered matters relating to bus stops and traffic flow around the regeneration of the Strand Gardens, with a request for comments to be returned on receipt of the minutes.  We did receive some replies.

Attached to the minutes was a tear-off slip asking "what do you want SCfD Exmouth to do for you and how are you prepared to help"

In August we had received 2 responses.   We drew up a provisional programme through until next May so that unattached members as well as the East Devon groups would be aware.

We are currently exploring the possibility of setting up a befriending service and discovering the hurdles we have to surmount.
